History
In 1920, Rene Caisse was working as a nurse when she met a Native Ojibwe tribesman who told her about a special blend of ancient herbal tea highly regarded in his community. Ms. Caisse was intrigued by the beneficial claims this medicinal tea had to offer, and soon began recommending this special blend to her patients with the same positive results.
This ancient tea became known as Essiac tea (Caisse spelled backwards), and was popularized due to the work of Rene Caisse and the testimonials of her patients. Over a hundred years have passed since we learned about this special Native tea blend, and American Essiac Tea is glad to carry on the tradition of crafting this superior herbal tea that continues to be highly esteemed by many.
